SECTION I - WHERE DO I ENLIST

In the 3rd Marines, we have a online form that players who wish to enlist must fill out. Note that after you submit your form you will be redirected to a page that will give you further instructions on what you must do next. If you see this page after you submit your form, this means you have successfully completed the enlistment form.

After filling out your enlistment form and performing the required actions on the page that the form takes you to after enlisting, a Marine from our IPAC center will invite you to our official 3rd Marine Steam group as well as add you as a friend on Steam. Please give our Marines up to 10 hours to perform this action. If you have not received your invite by then please contact any Marine NCO you see (CPL's or higher).

To Enlist with the 3rd Marines you must REGISTER A FORUM ACCOUNT and then fill out THIS FORM.

***IMPORTANT - UPON FILLING OUT YOUR ENLISTMENT YOU ARE CONSIDERED A RECRUIT AND AS SUCH YOUR BEHAVIOR WILL BE HELD TO A HIGHER STANDARD***

ARTICLE II - WHAT ARE THE REQUIRMENTS TO JOIN

There are no disqualifying terms associated with being able to enlist with us except for hacking history and VAC Bans that are within 325 days since last occurrence.

While being in the 3rd Marines, even as a Recruit, you are required to wear the units "tags" and rank on your steam name at all times. Another requirement is that you also must remain in the Steam Group you are invited to after filling out an Enlistment.

You need to have a realistic name, however, it does not need to be your actual name.

ARTICLE III - WHAT HAPPENS WHILE I AM A RECRUIT?

The 3rd Marines operates a Recruit Program that is designed in such a way to allow recruits to be active at their own pace. There are no mandatory playing times or events as a recruit, however, playing time is a fairly important area in which helps you pass the program.

Upon enlisting, you will have up to three months of time to earn 40 points on your individual score to graduate. If you acquire 40 points before this time period you will be graduated and promoted to Private as soon as that occurs. If you fail to acquire the 40 points before your three months are up, you will be failed.

In addition to needing to have 40 or more points to graduate, every recruit must also complete our Recruit Training Class. This is a one hour training event in game that is held at random times throughout the month during times and dates that ensure most recruits still needing to complete the course can attend. You do not have to go to every course we operate, you only need to pass it once.

Every Recruit starts out with 5 points.

ARTICLE IV - how do i earn points towards my graduation?

You acquire points during a grading cycle. On the 1st and 15th of every month you are graded using the accumulated average each of our Recruit Graders and Executive Officer give you on how they felt your performance that past sycle was. Each grader will be grading you on a range of categories such as your behavior, maturity, discipline, etc. Keep in mind that while grading, we have very high standards needed to ensure a perfect score for that category which is very rare.

Once you either pass the program or fail it, you will be notified via Steam chat.

ARTICLE V - WHAT CAN I DO AS A RECRUIT to help my chances?

Keep in mind that the more you are seen, the higher chance your grader will see you and be able to score you more favorably. You can accomplish this not just only with having high playing time. A good alternative approach is going to any unit related events such as Drills, Unit Events, Matches or 3rd Marine sponsored community events are always highly visible areas in which your grader will more than likely be present at and you can show off your best qualities.

Although the unit may not allow recruits in certain unit related events (simply depends on what the agenda is for that specific instance), they always allow Recruits to at least be present in the beginning of these exercises before having them leave the event.

ARTICLE VI - WHO IS MY GRADER?

Each Recruit will have a total of at least three graders. In some cases even more. We do this so that we can get a good average and non biased score every cycle. You can see who is grading your section by clivking the "Command Structure" tab in your Companies Roster.

Each Grader fills out a "Report Card" on a hidden adnimistrative page which is used to auto-calculate your final score that he will give you that cycle. Only the 3rd Marine's Commanding Officer ever knows how the values areas of the report card are calculated. Meaning, some criteria if scored well in will produce higher points than other areas. Likewise for areas that where scored poorly in. This is to help eliminate any potential favoritism.

Lastly, expect at least a 48 hour delay from one of your 15 day marks until your points are updated in the system. If you have not seen your points updated by then, please contact the Company Executive Officer.

ARTICLE VII - WHERE DO I SEE MY POINTS?

To view your current points (reminder, you need 40 or higher to graduate and must earn this before your cut off date), please go to the RECRUIT ROSTER or use the tabs on the top of the forums to view the lite version.
